After body damage involving my 2014 BMW, I turned to State Farm—expecting timely communication and customer advocacy. Instead, I was left covering $250 in rental car fees because State Farm took an extra week to decline a claim on a damaged external mirror they knew about on day one. After the other repairs were already done, my vehicle sat idle at the body shop the an extra week, and I was left footing the additional bill for the rental car.

When I brought up my concerns, the agent made it clear—“It’s not my job to deal with claims.” Worse, he raised his voice at me for being frustrated, even though he is the public face of the company and the reason I signed up with State Farm in the first place.

I understand that agents may not control every step of the claims process. But what’s the point of having an agent if they don’t advocate for their clients or even acknowledge when things go wrong?

This experience has seriously shaken my confidence in State Farm—not just as an insurance provider, but as a service organization that’s supposed to be there when it matters most."
